Completed February 2007.
Hong Kong's Airport Authority recently opened Terminal 2; as
well as the normal check in facilities this new terminal includes
retail, dining and entertainment areas.
The Aviation Discovery Centre provides visitors with the opportunity
to explore the cockpit of an aircraft, learn about Hong Kong's
aviation history, explore interactive models and to ride in
a simulator.
The environment has been designed and built by Kingsmen's Hong
Kong office with lighting designed and supplied by Vancouver
based CDM2 Lightworks.
Ptarmigan was appointed by CDM2 Lightworks to provide local
technical support to the design and installation teams, commission
and programme the project.
The control system, which interfaces with the Audio Visual system,
not only manages the day to day time static lighting, but also
interfaces with IR beams to allow visitors to trigger the effects
of aircraft flying down the runway and the runway landing lights. |
